Kids

I want to talk today about a one of my favorite movies that I had forgotten about for a year or so and just recently watched. I'm talking about Larry Clarke's 1995 debut film Kids. This movie was the most realistic movie I had ever seen involving teenagers. Clarke set out to make the movie equivalent to the great American novel.
I want to talk about this movie because it is probably my all time favorite and if you have not seen it you probably should. This movie was before it's time in terms of content and subject matter. This movie covered aids in youth and just showed a gritty real perspective of what is going on in the world.
This film was slapped with an NC-17 rating, but it is now on dvd with just an unrated version. This was by far Larry Clarke's best film and I recommend it to everyone that I talk to. I felt like writing a blog about this because I feel like it is just such and underrated and realistic movie that pretty much anyone that has not seen it hopefully will and enjoy it.
