Disney produces the show Dinosaurs, so as soon as that came on the screen, I knew there would be underlying messages. Watching it now I know there were so many things that went right over my head when I was younger. I thought it was just a show about a family of dinosaurs but I now realize that they covered subjects such as drugs and sex.
The messages portrayed in the show were forward and it was clearly showing right from wrong,
which would be visible to younger children. This show was obviously more based for adults , but it was
also watchable for children, because the children would think it was funny and the adults could actually
understand the plot and most likely relate to it.
i love the show dinosaurs! however, i think it was more farcical than you're giving it credit for. when they covered subjects like drugs, sex, and elderly grandparents, i think they were spoofing the subject matters of the then-popular sitcom. you gotta think about what was popular when that shou came out, and it was a whole lotta full house, bill cosby, and rosanne.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely fun to go back to shows you watched as a kid, and see them through adult eyes. For instance, I keep going back to that SESAME STREET well on YouTube...
